    Movee ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

    Location Data

    We collect location data to power the live map during active Moves. Your location is shared only with friends in your current Move, only while the Move is live, and is never stored long-term or shared with third parties. Location sharing is always opt-in.

    Usage Data

    We collect information about how you interact with the app, including Moves created, venues visited, journal entries viewed, and notification preferences. This helps us improve our service and provide a better experience.

    Account Information

    If you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and university affiliation. This information is necessary to provide personalized features and campus-specific content.

    • •Send relevant push notifications about your Moves and friends' plans
    • •Auto-generate your Moves Journal entries after each night

    • •Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent activity

    We do not sell your personal information. We may share anonymized, aggregated data with venue partners to help them understand crowd patterns. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

    We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

    Movee's core app is free. We display contextual venue highlights within the app and offer an optional Premium subscription. We do not sell your personal data. Ad partners may receive anonymized, aggregated audience data (e.g., age range, campus, general interests) but never data that identifies you individually.

    Third-party ad networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve relevant ads. You can manage ad personalization in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking).

    We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

    • •Account data: Retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion
    • •Location data: Not stored beyond the active Move session
    • •Moves Journal: Retained while your account is active; deleted upon account deletion
    • •Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely

    We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption, secure servers, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

    Movee is intended for users age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Movee after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
